Keeping patients and public informed
We are using several channels to inform patients and public about the work we are doing. We continue to develop and improve our website which provides information about each of our nine themes, news releases, events and outputs as well as our aims, management arrangements and strategic partnerships. A number of themes have now developed lay patient information leaflets which can be downloaded from our website and are also distributed to relevant organisations.
We have developed a CLAHRC-BBC quarterly newsletter; the first of which was circulated in September 2010. We have also published a number of press releases, covering certain events and research successes and created a new monthly e-bulletin. Further communication work is being developed by our new Knowledge, Communication and Engagement Manager.
We held a successful dissemination event on 27th November 2009 to celebrate our first year where PPI representatives were in attendance. Following feedback from this event, our second dissemination event on 1st February 2011 had a PPI theme and our PPI panel and forum advised us on the coordination and management of the event. Some of the PPI work being conducted within the nine themes was showcased to delegates through video material.
